You make a lovely Taiga, especially since with the Taiga wig on and the bangs in front of your eyes, the shape of your face is actually fairly similar to hers. I'm also glad to see you have her famous Boken; not every Taiga cosplayer does! (If we ever run into each other at a 'con someday, I can give you a few tips on posing with that, since I actually practice Kendo.) Were you able to find a Ryuuji?
Isn't it just perfect when it works out that way - that you actually look like the character you want to cosplay? ^_^
Well, I can actually show you a little of what we do with Boken right now. We don't hit people with them because they are capable of causing severe injury.
(Miyamoto Musashi, in fact, was famous because eventually he stopped using metal Katana and only fought with Boken. He killed Sasaki Kojiro at Ganryu Island with nothing but an oversized Boken he carved out of a boat oar - and Kojiro was using an extra-long Katana.)
In fact, Kendo wasn't invented until the 18th century while Japanese Samurai swords have been around since the 12th-13th. Before then, you learned swordfighting through forms or Kata, sets of choreographed moves that taught you what to do if somebody tried to attack you a certain way. But some Samurai felt it wasn't good enough and they needed full-contact practice, so they simplified the armor, introduced the bamboo Shinai and modern Kendo was born.
But in Kendo, we still practice 10 sets of Kata and that's where our Boken come in. Here's what that looks like - you can look at the stances and moves they use in these videos, and that is how you're supposed to pose with your Boken as Taiga. I'm quite sure that she'd likely know Kendo, otherwise she wouldn't be carrying that thing around. I don't think she's the kind of girl who'd carry a weapon she didn't know how to use.
